Fourth
grade artists have been examining the effects of color
theory and line in art. Through this project students used the edges
of cardboard dipped in paint to create a Japanese style cherry blossom tree
rich in line and texture. Next, the students thoughtfully chose and mixed colored
chalks, practicing blending and the effect of a particular color of chalk in relation
to another tint, shade, or color. Sakura blossoms were then added with a dabbling brush technique.
